Our Story

Inspired by Motherhood

Vivi Coo is an independent British jewellery brand founded by designer and mother Kamala James, a St Martins alumna whose journey into motherhood - beginning with the birth of her daughter, inspired a deeper understanding of love, care, and connection. Experiencing the transformation of becoming a mother herself, Kamala also reflected on the love she has always received from her own mother. Wanting to celebrate this transformation, she began creating jewellery that honours the circle of motherhood: the children we nurture, the women who guide us, and the stories that connect us across generations.

The name tells the story: Vivi, derived from the Latin Vivus, meaning "alive" or "full of life," and Coo, a soft whisper evoking comfort, connection, and the joy of new beginnings.

Each piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans using the finest solid sterling silver, enamel, and resin, with recycled silver used wherever possible, creating timeless jewellery that holds the special feeling of motherhood close.
